Uplift Teens

Community Service + Friends + Fun = Uplift Teens

Uplift Teens is a volunteer service group and auxiliary of Uplift Community Alliance. This auxiliary provides volunteer opportunities for teens in grades 7-12 and has a current membership of approximately 25-30 teens representing over 10 schools across the Salt Lake Valley.

Uplift Teens meets one evening each month, usually the second Wednesday from September through April. We meet from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and provide dinner before we start our project. Annual dues are $25.  Adult advisors are present at all meetings and activities. The teens are encouraged to develop a sense of community responsibility, self-reliance, and leadership.

Philanthropic Programs

Uplift Teens programs serve a wide range of needs for preschoolers to senior citizens. The following are some of the activities we do during the year.

  • Assemble backpacks with school supplies for Head Start
  • Bag clothing for Uplift School Kids
  • Provide Thanksgiving food items for various agencies
  • Work in the Uplift Thrift Store
  • Assemble hygiene duffel bags for the Rescue Mission
  • Take a field trip to the Food Bank
  • Put together weekend food bags for schools
  • Assemble Bunny Baskets for the YWCA and Family Support Center

We always need and welcome member or parent help with this program.  Please contact the Uplift Teens coordinator at upliftteensslc@gmail.com.
